Built in 2019 our flagship, state-of-the-art glasshouse is a sector leading demonstration of how expertise and innovation can deliver profitable and sustainable growth.
Since our beginning in 1988 we have been a on a trajectory of growth that has seen our glasshouse footprint increase from one site with 0.25 acres to three sites with over 60 acres.
Over the years, as we have expanded out capacity, new technology has been adopted to improve quality, guarantee consistency and maximise efficiency.
At over 60 acres of glasshouse space, we are one of the UK’s largest protected crop producers. With the ability to grow heated crops year-round, we have the capacity to grow in excess of 70 million plants a year.
Our modular glasshouse system provides the flexibility to grow crops in different climatic conditions at the same time, allowing us the opportunity to deliver a diverse range of products for our customers.
We use the latest robotics and automation to deliver efficiency at the key stages of cultivation where manual labour has traditionally been used. Our newly installed propagation robots have the ability to plant up to 5000 cutting per hour, ensuring we are optimising our capacity during peak season.
Automation is used throughout the glasshouse to control temperature, irrigation, and the movement of crops, allowing us to consistently grow high quality plants.
Sustainability is at the heart of our business model and forms a part of everything we do, from the crops we grow, the packaging materials we buy, to the natural resources we use in the cultivation process.
For us it is important to ensure our business does not have a negative impact on the environment and that we use natural resources responsibly. There are a number of ways in which we are striving to achieve this.
